PIOB overseeing international audit, ethics and education standards for the accounting profession

On June 13, Mr. Wymeersch received the 2011 Regulatory Innovation Award at a gala in Washington that featured Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor as speaker.  The award was established in 2008 by international law firm Morrison & Foerster to honor an academic or non-elected public official whose innovative ideas have made a significant contribution to the discourse on regulatory reform in the areas of corporate governance, securities, capital markets or financial institutions.
